What is NEPO?
NEPO — the North East Procurement Organisation — is a public sector procurement organisation owned by the twelve local authorities of North East England. It runs procurement on behalf of councils and other public bodies across the region, and operates the systems through which many North East public sector opportunities are advertised.
For suppliers, that means a significant share of the region's public sector work — construction, maintenance, facilities, cleaning, training, IT and professional services among it — is published through NEPO's procurement arrangements. Registering to see opportunities is free.
Why suppliers find procurement portals difficult
- Category-based alerts deliver far more irrelevant notices than relevant ones.
- Opportunity notices are written in procurement terminology, not business language.
- Requirements, evaluation criteria and deadlines are spread across multiple documents.
- Working out whether you are actually eligible takes hours per opportunity.
- Small teams have no reliable way to judge whether a bid is worth the days it will take.
How Bid Sense supports the process
Opportunity summaries
Each NEPO opportunity is presented in plain English: what is being bought, by which organisation, for how much and by when — with a suitability score against your business profile.
Tender document analysis
Upload the tender pack and Bid Sense extracts the questions, mandatory requirements, weightings and deadlines from every document, however they are spread across files.
Bid/no-bid recommendations
Before you commit days of effort, see a clear recommendation with the eligibility checks, strengths and risks behind it.
Bid Workspace
When you decide to bid, a structured workspace guides you through every question with plain-English explanations, evidence suggestions and editable first drafts.
